This ballet dancing bat, is part of my series of dancing chimeras and mermaids.
I chose the bat to turn into a dancer because of the way bats move - swooping and gliding and so I imagined how graceful they would be if they were dancers.
This series grew out of my love for stories about and images of mermaids and selkies.

In 2009, my family and I saved a Highland Bull from being killed by the Country Park in Cambrdgeshire where he lived with his herd.
The amazing Hillside Animal Sanctuary took him in when we had secured his release, and he has lived at their sanctuary in Norfolk ever since.
Fergus costs them a lot of money, and so we will donate 10% of the profit from the sale of this item to Hillside to support their wonderful work.
